Child Care Forum (conference) for parents

7th August 2004 at Kareela Golf Club Bates Dr. Kareela

A number of Independent Private Childcare Centres in the St George/Sutherland area are organising and sponsoring a Parents Child Care Forum to be held at the Kareela Golf Club on Saturday 7th August.

The vision is for this inaugural Forum to become an annual event to address and discuss current issues regarding Early Childhood Development and the role of Childcare Centres and parents in the early education of our children.

Long Day Care centres were once considered to be little more than baby sitting services for working parents.  They are now much more. All long day care centres provide an educational and developmental programme to meet the needs of all children.  There is in place a stringent Accreditation programme to ensure that Centres meet quality standards.   Learning, and the development of young children in childcare, complements the learning in the home and the pre-development and preparation for school.

The aim of the Forum is to address issues such as Child Development, Behaviour preparation for school, and other issues associated with preschool children and childcare. Professionals will address the forum within the Childcare field.
